Abstract
This comment is organized in two parts: the first one summarizes Juan Pro Ruiz's propositions and his contributions to the studies on the political-cultural history of Spanish liberalism in the XIX century. Especially, it emphasizes the criticism to the conceptions that limit the image of the State to its fiscal and military institutions, by ignoring the State´s political and cultural instruments that shaped the "national mentality". The second part focuses on the analysis of important concepts of the text -- revolution/rupture/ Ancient Regime - and on the relationships between State, Nation and Political-Culture.
