Six species of the genus Bryopteris (Nees) Lindenb. are cited to Brazil: B. diffusa (Sw.) Nees, B. filicina (Sw.) Nees, B. flaccida Lindenb. & Hampe, B. fruticulosa T. Taylor, B. liebmanniana Lindenb. & Gott. and B. trinitensis (Lehm. & Lindenb.) Lehm. & Lindenb. B. liebmanniana is cited for the first time in Brazil. Description, illustrations, and geographical distribution are presented for each species.
