EDITORIAL NOTE

This number of Brazilian Journal of Biology has 28 scientific papers. The Brazilian Journal of Biology is undergoing changes in the Editorial Policy. These changes have the objective to process and publish speedily submitted and approved papers.

The new Editorial Policy will be explained in a special letter that will be send in February to Associates, Universities and research institutes. Therefore 2014 will be a transition year.

We expect to adapt fully the new Editorial Policy by mid 2015.
