EDITORIAL NOTE
For the Brazilian Journal of Biology, 2010 was an exceptional year. The Journal published in its regular and additional numbers a total of 157 scientific papers in several areas of Neotropical biodiversity. Indexation of the Journal was completed with inclusion in the SCOPUS database. And the Brazilian Journal of Biology is the 8th journal in citation among 43 scientific journals in the area of Biological Sciences and Agricultural Science in Brazil. New scientists have agreed to collaborate on the Advisory and Editorial Boards, which are now widely covered both geographically and by scientific field.
Three new special numbers are programmed for 2011 in addition to the four regular numbers. Therefore we expect that 2011 will be as productive as 2010, with new insights and discoveries in neotropical biology as well as consolidating the Brazilian Journal of Biology as a high-level scientific publication specialised in Neotropical Biology. 2011 will be the year of the 71st volume of the Brazilian Journal of Biology.
