AUTHORS'S ANSWER

Dear Dr Levent Tekin,

Thank you very much for your relevant considerations about the manuscript.

For better understanding of the procedure performed in the study, the following information should be adjoined: The protocol group received Shenmen, Brain Stem, Kidney, Liver Yang 1 and 2 points which were previously tested in other study on the same subject with positive results(11 Kurebayashi LFS, Gnatta JR, Borges TP, Belisse G, Coca, S, Minami A et al. The applicability of auriculotherapy with needles or seeds to reduce stress in nursing professionals. Rev Esc Enferm USP. 2012;46(1):89-95. ).

The no protocol group also received the same number of sessions and points, but they have been chosen according to individual response of the treatment and Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. For the placement of semi-permanent needles, after proper location of reactive points with manual locator (pressuring on the points and perceiving the sensible point), ethyl alcohol 70% was used in order to disinfect the ear and the needles were affixed with adhesive tape.

We hope to have adequately clarified the doubts and put ourselves at the disposal. We appreciate the kindness and the opportunity.
