Studies with five vine rootstocks

SUMMARY
This research work viewed to study the influence of the rootstock diameter and the grape variety on the following parameters: rootstock rooting, development, and macronutrients concentration.
The varieties compared were ripária-do-traviú, kobber 5 BB, RR 101-14, IAC 766 (tiliaefólia x traviú), and IAC 571-6.
The results showed that the rootstock diameter had no influence on any one of the parameters considered.
Regarding to the varietal effect, it was observed that the IAC 571-6 presented the highest rate of development.
Nitrogen concentration in leaves and branches did not differ significantly in the five varieties.
Ripária-do-traviú presented the highest amount of phosphorus in the leaves, and kobber 5 BB, in the branches; potassium was found in the highest level in the leaves of kobber 5 BB, and in the branches of IAC 766.
The IAC 571-6 showed the highest concentration of calcium both in leaves and branches.
Magnesium was found in the lowest concentration in the leaves of kobber 5 BB and the branches of ripária-do-traviú.
