SUMMARY

The influence of trifluralin on peanuts roots during the first 27 days, in plastic pots, and the possible influence on the yield in a field experiment were observed.

In plastic pots the formation of lateral roots was affected in the treated soil layer, but with fast recuperation below it.

On the field experiment the same phytotoxicity was observed with milder intensity but the yields were not significantly reduced at any of the rates of trifluralin used.
