Atypical fibroxanthoma of the conjunctiva - case report

RESUMO

Neoplasias fibro-histiocíticas da conjuntiva são raras. O fibroxantoma atípico é considerado uma variante superficial do fibro-histiocitoma maligno (FHM). Relatamos o primeiro caso da literatura nacional em uma mulher de 78 anos. Os aspectos clínicos e histopatológicos desta neoplasia são discutidos.

SUMMARY

Fibrohistiocytic tumors of the conjunctiva are rare. Atypical fibroxanthoma is regarded as a supeificial form of malignant fibrous histiocytoma ( MFH). We report the first national case in a 78-year-old woman. Clinical and histopathological characteristics of this tumor are discussed.
