Respostas aos testes de estereopsia em portadores de visão subnormal

Responses to stereoscopic tests in low vision patients

RESUMO

Os autores selecionaram 27 pacientes portadores de visão subnormal, em uma faixa etária de 04 a 55 anos (média 16 anos, DP 13,75 anos), com acuidade visual (AV) entre 0,06 a 0,3. A medida da acuidade visual para longe e perto foi feita utilizando tabelas LH ou ETDRS, com correção da ametropia. A seguir os pacientes foram submetidos à avaliação da estereopsia pelos testes de Titmus e Lang. A análise dos resultados mostrou que é possível a realização dos testes Lang e Titmus em portadores de visão subnormal com acuidade visual de até 0,05. No teste de Titmus foi encontrada uma resposta positiva em 11 pacientes (40,74 %) e negativa em 16 pacientes (59,25%) e no Teste de Lang houve uma resposta positiva em 7 (25,92 %) pacientes e negativa em 20 (74,07 %). Os autores discutem o uso de testes estereoscópicos em pacientes com visão subnormal.

SUMMARY

The authors have examined the stereoscopic Vision of 27 patients with low vision. Their age varied from 4 to 55 years (average 16 years, standard deviation 13.75 years) and the visual acuity from 0.06 to 0.3. LH and ETDRS charts were used to check visual acuity at 6 m and 33 cm. Ametropic errors were corrected. Next stereopsis was checked by Titmus and Lang tests. Analysis of the results showed that it was possible to check stereopsis with those tests in patients with vision up to 0.05. With the Titmus test, 11 patients (40.74%>) showed a positive response and 16 patients (59.25%) a negative one. With the Lang test, 7 patients (25.92%) had a positive and 20 ( 74.07%) a negative response. The authors discuss the use of stereoscopic tests in patients with low vision.
