Avaliação da contaminação bacteriana na mistura de colírios de fluoresceína e drogas anestésicas

RESUMO

Frascos de substâncias anestésicas tópicas e de fluoresceína sódica, disponíveis comercialmente, foram abertos, misturados na proporção 1:1 e inoculados com Pseudomonas aeruginosa ou Staphylococcus aureus, a fim de ser testada a capacidade da mistura em manter-se estéril. Observou-se que não houve crescimento bacteriano em culturas obtidas da mistura após um minuto, 15 minutos, 1 hora, 2 horas e 24 horas após a inoculação.

SUMMARY

Commercially avaiable bottles of anesthetic solutions and fluorescein eye-drops were opened, combined (1:1) and inoculated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Staphylococcus aureus, in order to analyse the ability of anesthetic fluorescein combination to remain sterile. Bacterial ingrowth were not observed on cultures got from the combination after one minute, 15 minutes, one hour, two hours and 24 hours of the inoculation.
