RESUMO

Os autores descrevem as características do PERG quanto à provável origem, à estimulação e à morfologia e citam as possíveis aplicações do exame na prática clínica.

SUMMARY

The authors describe the basic characteristics of the PERG according to its presumed origin, employed stimulus and resulting recording, and enumerate the possible utilizations of the method in the clinical practice.
