Early postoperative ocular hypertension in cataract surgery

RESUMO

Foram estudadas 40 facectomias extracapsulares com implante de lente intra-ocular de câmara posterior, coro o objetivo de ser analisada a freqüência de hipertensão intra-ocular durante as primeiras 24 horas. Apenas 7,5% dos casos desenvolveram hipertensão, quando foram evitadas manobras ou drogas que pudessem contribuir para o aumento da pressão intra-ocular. A análise dos resultados mostrou ser possível diminuir a freqüência da hipertensão Intraocular precoce e transitória pós-facectomia.

SUMMARY

Forty extracapsular extractions of cataract with posterior chamber lens implantation were studied for a purpose of analysing the frequency of intraocular hypertension during the first 24 hours after surgery. Only 7,5% of the cases developed ocular hypertension when drugs or maneuvers that would increase intraocular pressure were avoided. The analysis of results showed that it is possible to reduce the frequency of early transient ocular hypertension.
