Suscetibilidade da soja perene a sete herbicidas1
Effect of seven herbicides on the perennial soybean growing in a citrus orchard
Ody Rodriguez
SUMMARY
The perenial soybean (Glycine javanica L.) is an excellent cover crop for citrus groves in Sao Paulo. During the winter months (May to September) it becomes necessary to eliminate this legume plant to avoid competition for soil water that would other wise take place.
Seven herbicides were compared on the perennial soybean, each applied at two concentrations. Only Karmex DW (Diuron) acted as a good herbicide for this plant at the dosage of 1 g/sq.m. Alipur had a alight effect. The other five herbicides, Dalapon, 2,4-D, TCA, Basinex, and U 46 - Combi did not affect the perennial soybean at the concentrations tried.
No detrimental effect was noticed on the citrus plants in the grove where the application of the herbicides on the perennial soybean took place.
