É relatado um caso de aneurisma gigante da artéria cerebral média com as dimensões de 12,0 x 8,0 x 6,0 cm, tratado cirurgicamente mediante craniotomia e ressecção. É feita breve análise da conduta diante dos aneurismas gigantes. Os autores acreditam ser este o maior aneurisma cerebral já descrito até o presente momento.

A case of giant aneurysm of the middle artery with the size of 12,0 x 8,0 x 6,0 cm is reported. Some aspects of the treatment of such aneurysm are considered. As far as we know this is the largest intracranial aneurysm ever recorded.

RESUMO

É relatado um caso de aneurisma gigante da artéria cerebral média com as dimensões de 12,0 x 8,0 x 6,0 cm, tratado cirurgicamente mediante craniotomia e ressecção. É feita breve análise da conduta diante dos aneurismas gigantes. Os autores acreditam ser este o maior aneurisma cerebral já descrito até o presente momento.

SUMMARY

A case of giant aneurysm of the middle artery with the size of 12,0 x 8,0 x 6,0 cm is reported. Some aspects of the treatment of such aneurysm are considered. As far as we know this is the largest intracranial aneurysm ever recorded.
