General Information
The Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences is published continually by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of São Paulo and has the objective of publishing the most recent advances in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Area. The Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences has its origin in 1939 with the publication of the "Anais de Farmácia e Odontologia da USP". In 1963, volume 1 of the journal name was changed to "Revista da Faculdade de Farmácia e Bioquímica da Universidade de São Paulo" and was published at that year. In 1970, the journal was again renamed as "Revista de Farmácia e Bioquímica da Universidade de São Paulo", name that was maintained until 1998. The Journal was totally remodeled and named as Revista Brasileira de Ciências Farmacêuticas/Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1999. From 2009 on, celebrating 70 years of publishing, a new era started. The journal kept only the English denomination and at present accepts only papers in English. From 2019 the accepted papers entered into a continuous flow of publication. All these changes were made to increase the national and international visibility of the BJPS, speed the procedure of publication, towards consolidating the Journal as one of the main journals in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. The abbreviation is Braz. J. Pharm. Sci., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips. |
