Scope and policy
Articles may be written in Portuguese or English. For papers submitted in English, a Portuguese version of the final manuscript will be requested. The paper submitted to Acta Paulista de Enfermagem and should not have been simultaneously submitted to another journal. The authors are entirely responsible for accuracy of the information and citations. If identified publication or simultaneous submission to another journal, the article will be rejected. The Acta follows the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. Open Science Policy The Acta Paulista de Enfermagem supports the practices related to the open science policy. By definition: “Open Science is transparent and accessible knowledge shared and developed through collaborative networks” (VICENTE-SÁEZ; MARTÍNEZ-FUENTES, 2018, p. 7). “Open Science is the practice of science in such a way that others can collaborate and contribute, where research data, laboratory notes and other research processes are freely available under terms that allow for the reuse, redistribution and reproduction of research and its underlying data and methods” (FOSTER, 2019, p. 10). Preprints: The Acta Paulista de Enfermagem accepts manuscripts that have been deposited on a non-commercial preprint server, as long as they have not been submitted for peer review in another journal simultaneously. Preprint is a manuscript that is publicly available in open access on a website called preprint server before publication in the scientific journal. This is an option for authors quickly and formally communicating their research before or in parallel submission to the Acta journal for evaluation and publication when approved. The author responsible for submission must inform in the Title Page if the manuscript is deposited in a preprint server and provide the corresponding DOI that will be published in the manuscript, if accepted for publication in the Acta Paulista de Enfermagem. On submission, the Acta requests authors to complete the (link to Open Science Compliance Form), ‘supplemental files for review’ option. The Acta journal reiterates that all manuscripts submitted from a preprint repository will be mandatorily peer-reviewed. Note that submitted manuscripts cannot contain references to articles that have not been published in scientific journals and have fully complied with the peer review process.
