Health Care Demands in Sugar Production Territories Tucuman in Interwar Times

Abstract

This paper analyzes, in one hand, and starting from a health care law in sugar areas, the difficulties of a provincial government to build a scenario of labor rights and compete politically with the local economic power, On the other hand, we are also interested in the construction of the workers demand on health issues. At that intersection, we stand at the question of the forms of articulation between government, capital and workers' demands in the province of Tucuman, in a scenario such as the interwar period, marked by deep changes in state practices and ideas related to social security and also by the growth of the labor organization.
