A filosofia, particularmente em fase crítica como a atual, se apresenta como questão. Mas, a questão atual da filosofia é simultaneamente a questão da tradição que produziu a filosofia. Questionada a partir do seu interior, a filosofia persevera, renovando-se; questionada a partir de fora, de uma posição cética, não só sua existência, mas toda a problemática dela decorrente, são recusadas. No entanto, na instância da ciência, pretensamente erigida em bastião do ceticismo, descobre-se a urgência daquilo mesmo que em seu nome é negado. A história da filosofia é o espaço onde ecoa e prolifera a questão da filosofia. Em seu contexto, por meio desta, a filosofia é sempre atual, transforma-se, pluraliza-se.

Philosophy, especially in a critical phase such as the present one, poses itself as a question. But the current question of philosophy is at the same time the question of the tradition that produced philosophy. Being questioned from withim, philosophy perseveres, renewes itself; questioned from the outside, from a skeptical position, not only its existence but also all its problems are rejected. Nevertheless on the level of science, which has supposedly been turned into a supporter of skepticism, one can find the urgency of the very same thing that is denied in its name. The history of philosophy is the place where the question of philosophy echoes and proliferates. In this context, and through its question, philosophy is always actual, it changes and pluralizes itself.

A partir de objeções às proposições de Mikhail BAKHTIN (ou V.N. VOLOCHINOV) sobre a produção da linguagem e do discurso literário no interior das relações sociais de produção, sugere-se a aplicação da semiótica peirceana, devidamente criticada para a análise da produção dos signos no nível da representação da consciência. Pretende-se com isto considerar o signo em toda a sua extensão, e não reduzido ao mero domínio do ""simbólico"", e tornar mais claro o lugar e o papel das diversas formas ideológicas no interior da "praxis".

Contrary to some propositions of Mikhail Bakhtin (or N. V. Volochinov) concerning the production of language and of literary discourse, it is proposed a critical application of the peircean Semiotics to the analysis of the production of signs on the level of the representation of conscience. The purpose in doing so is to consider the sign in its whole breadth, not reduced to the mere domain of the "symbolic", and to make clearer the place and role of the several ideological forms within the "praxis".

O artigo parte de uma simples constatação: é bastante insatisfatória, no presente estágio da pesquisa, a colocação do problema das relações entre imagens e palavras no universo fílmico. Trata-se, no entanto, de uma questão decisiva para a estética do cinema. Em geral, as análises feitas valorizam apenas a função das imagens na gênese e no desenvolvimento das significações. A hipótese de trabalho que se apresenta aqui, vem propor, ao contrário, uma abordagem do complexo sígnico constituído pela fusão indissolúvel dos dois recursos expressivos, que forma assim um meio de comunicação específico, original e absolutamente novo. Esse caráter inédito exige uma investigação minuciosa e urgente, conjugando-se perspectivas filosóficas, semióticas e propriamente cinematográficas.

It is rather unsatisfactory at the current phase of research the way in which the relations between images and words in the film universe are discussed. This is nevertheless a crucial issue regarding the aesthetics of the cinema. Most of the analyses carried out emphasize only the role of the imagens in the genesis and development of the significations. the working hypothesis set forth here has a different proposition, that is, an approach to the sign complex formed by the indissoluble fusion of both expressive resources, which is to be viewed as an specific, original and absolutely new means of communication. This quite new character calls for a detailed and urgent research in which philosophical, semiotic and properly cinematographical approaches are brought together.

"Habitualmente não se presta atenção ao fato de que a Primeira Parte da Ideologia Alemã ("Feuerbach") foi a última a ser redigida por Marx. O texto, tal como nos aparece hoje, encobre portanto a gênese da crítica ao Humanismo. Esta última, como este pequeno ensaio pretende indicar, só poderia brotar do contacto meticuloso com o texto do Único e sua Propriedade. Após a leitura de Stirner, Marx pôde se acreditar liberado deste último fantasma especulativo e ideológico: o Homem."

Usually no attention is paid to the fact that the First Part of German Ideology ("Feuerbach") was the last one written by Marx. As it appears to us today the text therefore covers the genesis of the criticism of humanism. This criticism, as this short essay intends to point out, could only spring from a close contact with the text of The Unique and Its Property. After reading Stirner, Marx could believe himself freed from this last speculative and ideological ghost: Man.

O artigo comenta a crítica comportamental quineana da semântica e da epistemologia. Quine pretende, com esta crítica, ter produzido contribuições significativas para a clarificação de umas tantas noções, entre elas a de observação, ou de sentença observacional, tema este que é apresentado detalhadamente. É examinado, também, o papel exato da chamada tese Duhem-Quine na rejeição, por Quine, da doutrina das proposições.

The object of this paper is Quine's behavioristic critique of semantics and epistemology. Quine claims to have produced with this critique important contributions to the clarification of a number a notions, among them the notion of observation, or of observation sentence, a topic which is discussed here in detail. It is also discussed the precise role of the so-called Duhem-Quine thesis in Quine's rejection of the doctrine of propositions.

O texto nasceu de uma comunicação apresentada e discutida junto a um público de psicólogos (em agosto de 1977) e cujo objetivo era preparar (ou despertar) os ouvintes para a eventual leitura direta dos escritos de Michel Foucault, particularmente aqueles escritos que interessassem mais de perto a estudiosos da área de psicologia. Para tanto, escolheu-se pois, elaborar uma "introdução" à leitura do livro Histoire de la folie à l'âge classique, introdução esta que é, feita através de duas vias de abordagem : a primeira, mais específica, detém-se no exame de um momento preciso do livro, a saber, a "Introdução" da 2.a Parte; a segunda, mais genérica, busca "localizar" o livro no itinerário dos escritos de M. Foucault (até a época de L'Archéologie du savoir), fornece uma visão ampla de seu conteúdo interno e se conclui com uma remissão ao Prefácio de Les Mots et les Choses onde se coloca a questão da diferenciação entre o "outro" e o "mesmo".

This text comes from a communication presented to and discussed with an audience of psychologists (in August 1977). Its aim was to prepare (or to awaken) the hearers to a possible direct reading of Michel Foucault's writings, especially those more closely related to the area of psychology. With this view in mind a choice was made to elaborate an "introduction" to the reading of Histoire de la folie à l'âge classique, this introduction being done by way of two approaches: the first one, more specific, is restricted to the survey of a precise stretch of the book, the "Introduction" to the Second Part; the other one, more general, intends to "locate" the book on the sequence of M. Foucault's writings (until L'Archeologie du savoir), provides a comprehensive view of its internal content and concludes with a reference to the Preface of Les Mots et les Choses, where it is raised the question of the differentiation between the "other" and the "same".
