ABSTRACT
The mosquito species Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are prominent in the dispersal of several arboviruses, among them: dengue fever, yellow fever, chikungunya fever and zika virus. Recent works in the area of mathematical biology have been carried out in order to describe the dynamics of the population of these vectors and, consequently, to help public managers in the control of these arboviruses. In this work, we present an entomological model to describe the life cycle of those species of mosquitoes. The coefficients of the model are fixed as rainfall dependent. The results of the model are validated by comparison to field data of captures of females A. aegypti performed in the cities of Caratinga and Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
