This article is a collective study based on Scherer-Warren's concepts of networks and social movements. It is the result of a research done by the Group of Study and Research on Social Movements (Nemos) of the Social Services Postgraduation Program of Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. The study point to a research agenda to rethink the new configurations of XXI century's social movements, their connections to the State and political parties, their political articulation and their diverse background.
