This paper analyzes the discrepancies between discourse and actual practice that mark the current process of economic globalization and its implications for international migration. It also examines the advantages and disadvantages of international migration from different angles. Finally, it recommends the formulation of migration policies that build on the positive aspects while reducing the negative impacts of migratory movements.
