Consumption and impacts of agrochemicals in Colombia: poisoned communities

ABSTRACT

Pesticides widely used in the world have caused death and fatal diseases in living things. In the case of Colombia, a pesticide-producing country, the consequences have been foreseen in different communities, but their studies have been scarce or scattered, which does not allow obtaining a real picture of the consequences that the green revolution model would have. take in parents. The purpose of this article was to compile some research on the impacts of pesticides in Colombia, particularly on the effects of glyphosate. For this, 29 articles in Spanish and Portuguese were selected in search engines such as Scielo, Academic Google and Science Direct, as well as independent and institutional press documents, of which 14 studies are found in Colombia, which demonstrate the poisoning of soils, waters and people. We discuss these impacts and relate them to the panorama of inequality and agrarian violence that the country is experiencing.
