Fiction during Covid-19

ABSTRACT

In 2020 Covid-19 and the pandemic emerge, provoking the experience of a multiplicity of af- fections and a series of questions. Attempts to answer these questions occur mainly through the denialist and scientific discourses, which are in dispute in the understanding and diagnosing of a pandemic. However, these two discourses are not the only possible answers to the questions of the pandemic. In this sense, this article uses fiction as a strategy to produce narratives about the event of Covid-19. For that, the theme of the pandemic is addressed together with Camus’ fiction, ‘The Plague’, to make one see new modes of composition of the pandemic event. This composition here in the article will be done as bricolage of news from 2020 and 2021 about the pandemic, passages from the book, and the discussion of how fiction can also be a mode of understanding, and moreover, a mode of producing worlds.
