A method for qualitative analysis of medical registers in Prenatal Care Services is proposed, based on the filling percentage of the items and on the coherence of the data of history, physical examination, diagnosis and management. The method, used in some Prenatal care units of the Health Secretary of São Paulo, has proved to be easily conducted, when applied by qualified manpower, such as skilled nurses and physicians.
