Operational evaluation of institutional nursing attendance given children 0-5 years of age was carried out from October, 1977 to October, 1978, in the Experimental Health Center of the "Escola Paulista de Medicina", S. Paulo (Brazil). It tells of problems that have arisen since the implanting of the Center and recounts clientes' opinions about this new vehicle of community health care.
