Checking the "in vitro" activity of "Hycanthone" on some bactéria of the genus Salmonella the authors have verified that concentrations of that substance, ranging from 0,39 from 400 mcg/ml, did not prevent the development of the following species: S. anatum, S. derby, S. typhi and S. typhimurium. Said statement may rasonably support the hypothesis according to which the above microrganisms can be carried in by the worms in cases of the so-called "prolonged septicaemic salmonellosis".
