Inatividade "in vitro" do Hycanthone relativamente a bactérias do gênero Salmonella

Checking the "in vitro" activity of "Hycanthone" on some bactéria of the genus Salmonella the authors have verified that concentrations of that substance, ranging from 0,39 from 400 mcg/ml, did not prevent the development of the following species: S. anatum, S. derby, S. typhi and S. typhimurium. Said statement may rasonably support the hypothesis according to which the above microrganisms can be carried in by the worms in cases of the so-called "prolonged septicaemic salmonellosis". This idea copes with Macêdo and co-workers study in which they have recently cured with "Hycanthone" patients presenting simultaneously mansoni schistosomiasis and salmonellosis of long course, an intriging association of the Brazilian regional pathology
