Treatment of the non-generalized social phobia by in vivo exposure and cognitive restructuring

Social phobia is a severe anxiety disorder that brings disability and distress. We present a case report of a 26 year-old woman with a diagnosis of non-generalized social phobia (severe fear of signing her name in public) with 3 years of duration. She was treated in 8 weeks with in vivo exposure and cognitive restructuring. The treatment progress was maintained in all measures at the 6-month follow-up.
