Abstract
Vascular plants of the mountains Cara de Cão, Pão de Açúcar and Urca, Rio de Janeiro. A source list of the vascular plants is presented for use by botanists and conservacionists in Rio de Janeiro. Included are 90 families and 198 species, representing 104 herbs, 14 ferns and fern allies, 46 shrubs and 34 trees. The list was prepared from taxonomic determinations of material of Herbarium A. Castellanos (GUA) and Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro (RB). Families with the greatest number of species are: Polypodiaceae (s.i.), Moraceae (s.l.), Leguminosae, Euphorbiaceae, Melastomataceae, Rubiaceae, Compositae, Bromeliaceae, Gramineae, Araceae and Orchidaceae.
