Between the life and the death: State, racism and the “extermination pandemic” in Brazil

Abstract

Written in times of sanitary pandemic, this article approaches another serious “pandemic” underway in Brazil, which has caused the systematic extermination, mainly, of the blacks/poors/youngs, whose lives are considered disposables. It shows how the State uses the structural racism to control the life and the death of blacks bodies. It emphasizes that the logic of the criminalization and extermination is essentially political: for maintain the current social order, it is necessary to control the popular rebellion.
