A divisão racial do trabalho como um ordenamento do racismo estrutural

Abstract:

This article situates the racial division of labor in capitalism as a fundamental category for analyzing structural racism in the wage labor market. Thus, the present article, with the objective of analyzing the sedimentation of the racial division of labor in the Brazilian social formation, starts from the understanding that the elements of complex slavery -- mode of production, enslaved and labor -- are the bases of the formation of capitalism and of the racism developed in Brazil. Based on bibliographic, documental and database research, using the historical-dialectical materialist method, it approaches how racism, as a structural element, is an indicator of discrimination and inequality in the constitution of the Brazilian labor market. This set of historical determinants has contributed to the sedimentation of the racial division of labor. The harmful effects of this reality for the life of the black population are expressed in the most varied forms of discrimination, violence, unemployment, insertion in precarious labor occupations, and poverty.
