Poverty as a malware: applications and retraction of social rights

Abstract

The article aims to present reflections about the relations between the applications and the economic crisis of 2008 and the retraction of social protection systems influenced by neoliberal rationality. As a methodology, this article uses bibliographic research and has got, as an empirical substrate, books, articles, and news published in the decade of 2010, which approached the society metamorphoses induced by the complexification of computing technology in recent years. Through the research, it was possible to understand how these applications were relevant for sustaining the system after the 2008 economic crisis and it also indicates the gradual conversion of the Big Data model into a partner of the State in the conception of a social protection model, in which the behavioral economics replaces any conception of history and class conflict. The article is structured in an introduction, two sections, and final considerations.
