The conventionality control as expression of the constitutionality control: originality and faults

Abstract

This paper approaches the origin of the concentrated and diffuse constitutionality control in Venezuela and the first decisions that applied human rights treaties and conventions before the consolidation of the diffuse conventionality control in the Inter-American System of Human Rights. However, it explains how, in a change of period, recently the government has refused the application of the judgments of the Inter-American Court on Human Rights and it has denounced the American Convention on Human Rights, all in disrespect to the Constitution of the Republic of Venezuela.
