Independent candidacies in Mexico

Abstract

This essay analyzes the requirements to be met by independent candidates according to the General Act of Institutions and Electoral Procedures (LEGIPE) and the Electoral and Citizen Participation Code of Jalisco (CEPCEJ). Moreover, it presents relevant cases in Mexico that have enriched the life of the country consolidating maximum compliance to human rights.
