Similarities and differences between the Brazil’s Federal Constitution of 1988 and the Mexican regarding the parliament

Abstract

The studies about the Parliaments of different countries are very important to have a wide overview of the decisions made to regulate them in a specific system. In this sense, Comparative Law is a good analysis tool, offering a methodology which allows not only expose a general view about a specific object - in this case, the Parliament -, but also to compare it with other existent models. These differences can be a result of many elements, such as the history of the analyzed country. Considering this, it is proposed a comparative review, using as a method the Comparative Law in a descriptive aspect, between Mexican and Brazilian Parliament. The election of these two countries was motivated due to an event entitled “Seminario Internacional Fuentes Históricas de la Constitución de 1917”, confirming the importance and influence of Latin America above the structure of both systems.
