Abstract
The article aims to present some reflections on the theoretical foundations that support the sanctioning regime for acts punishable by impeachment committed by the President of the Republic, taking into account the procedural peculiarities which should be observed at the time of political judgment as well as the procedural guarantees which should be provided to the accused.
