The third issue of the seventh volume of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal is now published, with seven articles on concrete structures and materials. Evaluation of second order moments in reinforced concrete structures is addressed in the first article, with an alternative proposal for estimating the magnification of first order moments. The second article aims at the evaluation of the quality of the concrete plant wastewater, proposing guidelines for treatment and reuse. In the third article the overlapping crack model is used to simulate concrete crushing, considering that the material in damage is simulated through surfaces that interpenetrate each other. Another article brings a structural reliability approach for evaluation of the bending moment capacity of reinforced concrete beams taking into account the influence of the reinforcement corrosion. The fifth article analyzes punching shear in reinforced flat slabs with a hole adjacent to the column. The study includes experimental tests performed on seven internal slab-column joints, analyzing ultimate loads, cracking, deflections and strains in concrete and reinforcement bars. A statistical analysis and conformity testing of concrete in the Rio Grande Port is the topic for the sixth article. The issue closes with an article on the design of cast-in-place reinforced concrete walls comparing two different strategies for numerical simulation, focusing on the maximum compressive stress. We congratulate the authors for the quality of the articles and acknowledge reviewers and editors for their dedication, responsible for the results achieved by the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal.
