ABSTRACT
This paper aims to analyze a posthumously published novel of the Brazilian writer Ariano Suassuna (1927-2014): O sedutor do sertão (2020). Despite being an easy-to-read book (what could give the reader a wrong impression about its literary qualities), O sedutor do sertão proves to be a work of a great complexity in its composition. Historic facts of Paraíba (Northeast of Brazil), folk themes, quotation about some chapbooks, chromatic usage, all of this comes together for the production of a work full of details, as usual to Ariano Suassuna.
