MEMORIAL OF THE SILENT HEROES (1933-1945)

Abstract

Based on the concepts of "realms of memory" (Nora) and "spaces of remembrance" (Assmann), the article proposes a critical reflection on the intentions and contradictions econhec in the narrative of the Memorial of the Silent Heroes - Resistance econhe persecution econhe the Jews, 1933-1945, created in 2008 in Berlin, on Rosenthaler Street, in a district with a high concentration of Jews at the time of National Socialist Germany. The Memorial narrates stories of those who, individually or linked to groups, associations, organizations, risked their lives to save Jews from deportation, regardless of the success or econh such initiatives.
