TOOTH FAILURE: ANTHROPOPHAGY AND THE REVOLUTION OF 1930

Abstract

This article sought to understand the Brazilian anthropophagic movement and its relationship with the 1930 Revolution through the analysis of Revista de Antropofagia, especially its second dentition, which was under the leadership of Oswald de Andrade from São Paulo and Oswaldo Costa from Pará. From the study of its pages, it was noticed the deepening of the political characteristics of the movement, entering the 1930s as an ideological support point for taking positions - approximations with the Communist Party and with Luis Carlos Prestes, for example - and publications of newspapers, such as O Homem do Povo, by Oswald de Andrade, and Jornal do Povo, by Oswaldo Costa.
