ABSTRACT

Objective

To analyse the healthcare monitoring practices of the local government and its interfaces with nursing.

Methods

This is a descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative study conducted in six municipalities in the 10th health region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with six healthcare managers and one adviser, and subjected to content analysis.

Results

The results led to the final categories, “Monitoring practices in municipal healthcare management” and “Difficulties of managers in implementing monitoring”.

Conclusion
