The article aims to reflect on the process of local integration of refugees in Brazil. It begins discussing the category of refugees which is treated as a problem demanding solutions to be implemented by the State and non-State actors. Moreover, it briefly presents the conceptual debate regarding integration, shedding light on different perspectives to understand it. The focus on the local integration of refugees in Brazil emphasized the institutional structure in the country, the actors involved in this process and the living conditions of refugees in Brazil. The conclusion highlights the necessity of improvement and more effectiveness of this structure and the work of the actors involved in this process, which also requires more refugee participation.
