ABSTRACT
The aim of this work was to map the relevant variables in the offensive phase of handball from semi-structured interviews with four experienced coaches. The interviews were transcribed, tabulated and analyzed based on Collective Subject Discourse method. The description of the results was based on the offensive operational principles, indicating that such analyzes should address: patterns of movement and game continuity (referring to the maintenance of ball possession); production spaces and collective vulnerability of defense (referring progression to the target); pivot positioning, defensive individual vulnerability and effectiveness of throws (referring to the annotation of the goal). The analysis of these variables allows delimit the systematization of training with strategic-tactical requirements similar to competition, enabling the development and/or learning of different elements, avoiding stereotyping behaviors of players.
