PRACTICE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND STRESS: A BIBLIOMETRIC REVIEW

ABSTRACT

The practice of physical activity has been inversely associated with adults and elderly levels of stress and also of younger subjects, being proposed as a strategy for reduce stress and its consequences. Then, the aim of study was describe some characteristics of the scientific production linked of physical activity and stress through a bibliometric survey, and analise scientific activity of this theme. For this, it was done a search on Lilacs, Scielo, Medline, PubMed and Web of Science considering as inclusion criteria: original articles done with humans between 2004 and 2014, in Portuguese, English and Spanish language. Review articles, thesis, dissertations and monographs were excluded this study. The results indicated that the practice of physical activity is associated with stress, showing an increase of scientific production of this theme.
