Contribuição ao estudo do processo de adaptação da pessoa laringectomizada

A conceptual starting point to this work we use the adaptation theory in nursing, by Callista Roy, stating that the nurse's role is to promote the adaptation of the human being through evaluation and nurse intervention. We were able to organize the observations of the phenomena occurred and to distinguish the situations where negative adaptations would come up, as well as to identify the stimuli responsible for the behaviour patterns. We concluded that the adaptation problems in the physiological mode are similar on different patients. However, for those of the self-concept mode, the functional and the interdependence roles are of difficult identification; its occurrence has a high frequency rate and patients showed different behaviour patterns in face of similar situations. Nursing interventions were made of orientations, guidance, demonstrations and request, being perfomed whenever the problems appeared.
