This study focuses on resident nurses from the Course of Specialization in Nursing Residence at UNIRIO. It aims at identifying the importance of the classes offered by the Course of Nursing Residence for a professional career by checking whether the Course has influenced towards the inclusion of the resident nurse into the job market; and identifying the areas of specialty chosen at the moment of the selection for the course by resident nurses that finished the five first groups. The study was carried out with resident nurses that were in the first five groups of the Course. Results show that specialization makes it possible for the professional to get qualified and acquire specific knowledge in the area of specialty chosen.
