ENTREPRENEURIAL PASSION: A SCOPE REVIEW

ABSTRACT

This research aimed to identify how literature approaches entrepreneurial passion and which theories are used to relate it to entrepreneurial behavior. To map the existing literature, a systematic scoping review project was adopted, with a search in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The review report followed the protocol Prisma-SCR. This study identified some evidence, such as: emotions are antecedents to entrepreneurial motivation, and entrepreneurs who are passionate about their ventures are more likely to persevere and have a greater chance of success. Entrepreneurial passion plays a crucial role in the development of opportunities, resource acquisition, and employee engagement, as well as being an important irrational factor that affects the entrepreneurial process. The uniqueness of this study lies in its quality of being the first scoping review conducted on entrepreneurial passion, a construct that deserves an in-depth analysis due to its positive influence on outcomes in the field of entrepreneurship. The scoping review on entrepreneurial passion can contribute to the development of theories and practices related to entrepreneurship, prompting the creation of public policies and business decisions.
