BACKGROUND: To analize the ethiology, diagnosis, treatment and evolution of patients with penile fracture. METHODS: We analysed 19 pacients with penile fracture diagnosis between 1999 and 2003. RESULTS: Fifteen patients were submitted to surgical therapy within the first 48 hours with good results. Four patients developed penile curvature on follow up. CONCLUSION: Surgical therapy showed better results with erectile function preserved.
