The Amazon, due to its uniqueness, has become an element of global discussions on alternatives for socioeconomic development, in relation to the natural and cultural environment of this region. In this sense, the analysis of tourist activity is justified, potentially generating social and economic progress when managed under the principles of sustainability – social, environmental and economic. The qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research was developed through adaptive cycles. The results of the empirical investigation were obtained through interviews with a panel of experts, a public manager and two guests, and the content analysis technique was applied. As a managerial implication of this study, if there is an adequate implementation of the accountability framework, which consists of a set of guidelines that assist in the management and good governance of State Parks in the Amazon, this implementation will be enhanced in order to meet the wishes of the actors, that interact in these spaces.
