Analysis of the Influence of Well Drilling on Living with Droughts in the Northeastern Semi-Arid: Case Study in the Community of Riacho das Flores in Reriutaba / Ce-Brasil

Abstract

The present study sought to measure the quality of life of the population before and after the installation of the new well in the town of Riacho das Flores, a rural area in the municipality of Reriutaba, in the northern region of the state of Ceará. The well aims to provide piped water to homes. A questionnaire was applied in a field research, whose results will be presented. After the arrival of piped water in the homes, 11.11% of the residents were able to develop agricultural and livestock activities, representing 27.78% of the interviewees. ¾ of the interviewees stated that there was an improvement in the quality of life.
