Teaching of Climatology as Citizenship Training at the Military College of Fortaleza/CE: Case Study with the concepts of Atmospheric Solar Radiation

Abstract

This study presents the results of promoting an interdisciplinary teaching-learning process of concepts on atmospheric solar radiation. In addition to the theoretical classes, lectures were given by meteorologists and health professionals for one hundred students in the final years of elementary school at Colégio Militar de Fortaleza/CE, with data collection through questionnaires, before (diagnosis) and after (evaluation) the application of the proposed methodology. The results obtained showed that knowledge of these contents is of great importance for the construction of a process of training students with citizenship and respect for the environment and reinforced the importance of using active methodologies in this process, in line with scientific studies published in the literature. Thus, it is concluded that the methodology proposed in this study made advances in the teaching-learning process and that it can be inserted in the context of several other disciplines, connecting the students experience and their respective prior knowledge about the variability of the local climate, according to what is advocated in official documents that govern brazilian basic education.
